Do I need any prior fitness experience to start?
No experience necessary! As a trusted personal trainer for beginners, we offer step-by-step guidance and beginner gym support whether you’re starting fresh or returning after a break.
What if I have specific health concerns or injuries?
Your safety is our priority. We customise programs to accommodate health issues or injuries, with extensive experience in personal training over 50 and fitness coaching for seniors NZ at both City Fitness Whangaparāoa and our Orewa gym.
Can I switch between in-person and online coaching if needed?
Yes! Train in-person at City Fitness Whangaparāoa or our home gym in Orewa, then switch to our convenient online personal trainer NZ service whenever you want flexibility.

How does online coaching work, and what equipment do I need?
Our online coaching uses a simple gym training app NZ and requires minimal equipment, so you can follow your tailored plan for wherever you train.
Is the app easy to use for someone not tech-savvy?
Absolutely. Our gym training app NZ is beginner-friendly and designed for all ages, with support available to help you get started. We will send you some instructional videos before you start help explain the use of the app.
Are there any hidden fees or extra costs?
No hidden fees from us — our pricing is clear for all sessions, whether at our home gym in Orewa or online. Please note, if you train at City Fitness Whangaparāoa, you will need a separate gym membership with City Fitness to access their facilities. Are there any long-term commitments?
For in-person training, there is a minimum commitment of 4 sessions to ensure you get started on the right track. For online coaching, we require a 12-week commitment to provide enough time for consistent progress and lasting results. We also ask for a minimum of 2 weeks’ written notice if you wish to stop any services, to help us manage scheduling and support all clients effectively.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
We value our trainers' time as much as yours. To keep things fair and ensure quality coaching for everyone, cancellations or rescheduling made 12 hours or more before your session carry no penalties. Cancellations within 12 hours will incur a 50% charge, and no-shows are charged 100%. This policy helps us respect everyone's time and maintain a reliable schedule.
Do you offer discounts or packages for multiple sessions?
Yes! We offer a variety of session options, and discounts are automatically applied when you book more than one session per week for in-person training. Discounts do not apply to online coaching packages, as these already have different levels of access and pricing tailored to your needs.
Do you provide nutritional guidance or meal plans?
I’m not a qualified nutritionist and don’t provide meal plans, as this is outside my professional scope. However, I can offer helpful suggestions on better food choices and guide you with calorie tracking and calculations to support your fitness goals. If you want a personalised meal plan, I can refer you to Anna, our trusted nutritionist, featured under the Trusted Partners section on our website.
How do you track my progress and adjust my plan?
Your progress is tracked using the Hubfit Coaching App, which is separate from the City Fitness app. Inside the gym, we monitor your performance closely and adjust your program only when necessary—either when your trainer sees it’s time to progress or if you report any issues with movements or injuries. Outside the gym, you can also track changes in body measurements and upload progress photos via the app, giving a complete picture of your fitness journey. This helps keep your plan safe, effective, and personalised.
How long before I start seeing results?
Individual results vary depending on consistency, nutrition, and other lifestyle factors. However, the majority of clients who train consistently report noticeable improvements in mood and overall sense of wellbeing within just a few weeks. Physical strength and fitness gains typically follow as you keep progressing with your personalised program.
Will I receive support if I have questions between sessions?
Yes! For exercise-related questions, you can message me directly through the built-in messaging feature in the Hubfit Coaching App. For session bookings or scheduling support, texting me is the quickest way to get help. You’ll also receive regular check-ins and workout updates pushed through the app weekly, or based on the frequency of the plan you choose.
